Once upon a time, on a night of Halloween, in Paris, at the Hotel de Seine…
A hotel walls are full of stories, of secrets forever condemned… The Hotel de Seine, beneath its charming and light exterior, has its share of mysteries… Did you know that unlike many establishments, the Hotel de Seine has a room 13…? It’s like a fanciful seal that protects the door from crazy stories… Let’s tell you one of them, about a Halloween night…
Once upon a time, at the Hotel de Seine, there was a disappointed young lover called Théodore. An aborted rendezvous, a shattered destiny, the evening of 31 October was a nightmare for the poor young man. Faced with the frivolous receptionist with a Spanish accent, he could only smile out of courtesy. She pointed him to room 13 on the first floor. Exhausted by this whirlwind of emotions, he slumped onto the bed and tried to get some sleep.
Knock, knock, knock! A thud awakened Theodore. At the same moment, the telephone rang. On the other end was the receptionist: “Hola! Trick or treat?! Ahahah!” Not in the mood for teasing, the young man hung up and headed for the door. On the doorstep were two candies and a message: “Would you like to play with us?”. He went down to reception to put an end to the nonsense immediately, but found no one there. There was, however, some giggling coming from the breakfast room. He spotted the young woman, alone, in front of the fireplace, laughing out loud. He preferred to return to his room. Upstairs, children were running down the corridor – to round off the day, he thought.
Lying on his bed with the light off, he could see the soft moonbeam through the window. ‘Shhhhhh….Shhhhh…’ He wasn’t dreaming, murmurs were coming from the wardrobe, well, the room next door because of course there was no one in the wardrobe. ‘Shhhhhh…Théo dort dort dort… ‘WHAT? Hearing his first name, Theodore switched on the light and opened the cupboard violently. Two small candies were lying on the floor with a message: ‘Now that you’re awake, you can play with us’, laughter erupted from the other side of the room. Theodore grabbed his bag, determined to leave his room immediately. He stumbled and hit his head on the luggage rack. When he opened his eyes, he saw four little blue ballerinas with white socks that went up on little ankles and disappeared under the bed… In two minutes, Theodore took the stairs and found himself in the street in front of the hotel. He put his hands in his pockets and, as he started to walk, took them out one by one. In the first were two little candies, in the second a message: ‘The loser has to pay a penalty, Theodore!’
Legends, stories… Halloween unleashes inspiration… And unlike this article, which is pure fiction, the Hotel de Seine promises you a true experience every time… ! See you soon…
